American Kennel Club AKC National Obedience Invitational By invitation only, a dog is selected based on their OTCH points during the qualifying period. At a minimum, 3 dogs per breed will be invited. Versatile Companion Dog Starting January 1, 2001, the American Kennel Club (AKC) began offering a special recognition for dogs that excelled in multiple events. The Versatile Companion Dog (VCD) title was created to encourage owners to expand their dogs' abilities in obedience, agility, and tracking. A dog must earn titles in all three events to earn a VCD.

American Kennel Club (AKC) CGC: Canine Good Citizen Test (AKC) CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. Owners are required to sign the Responsible Dog Owners Pledge, and tyhen they and their dog are eligble to participate in a ten-step test designed to demonstrate the dog's manners while in public. RN:Rally Novice(AKC) Rally provides a link from the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program to obedience or agility competition, both for dogs and handlers. RAE: Rally Advanced Excellent (AKC) In order to receive the RAE title, a dog must qualify ten (10) times in both the Rally Advanced B Class and the Rally Excellent B Class at the same trial. Schutzhund (VPG) BH: Traffic steady companion dog test (VPG) Begleithund is German and translates to 'Companion Dog'. This is an obedience degree and temperament test designed to evaluate a dog's perfomance in healing (on and off leash), sitting, down (and return to handler when called), ability to perform in traffic, behavior under extreme traffic conditions and behavior when left alone during traffic conditions. Temperament Titles
American Temperament Test Society (ATTS) TT: Temperament Tested This test focuses on the dog's behavior during a simulated casual walk through a park or neighborhood. Reactions from the dog when confronted by neutral, friendly and threatening situations are monitored to determine the dog's ability to distingush between non-threatening episodes and those which require for watchfull and protective reactions.
