American Kennel ClubAKC National Obedience InvitationalBy invitation only, a dog is selected based on their OTCH points during the qualifying period. At a minimum, 3 dogs per breed will be invited. If there are more than 30 dogs that qualify in a specific breed, then the AKC takes 10% of the total and they invite those dogs. |

Versatile Companion DogStarting January 1, 2001, the American Kennel Club (AKC) began offering a special recognition for dogs that excelled in multiple events. The Versatile Companion Dog (VCD) title was created to encourage owners to expand their dogs' abilities in obedience, agility, and tracking. A dog must earn titles in all three events to earn a VCD. |

American Kennel Club (AKC)CGC: Canine Good Citizen Test (AKC)CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. Owners are required to sign the Responsible Dog Owners Pledge, and tyhen they and their dog are eligble to participate in a ten-step test designed to demonstrate the dog's manners while in public. |
